Chester was born on January 14, 2001 and I have had him since October, 2009. (but he is going on 5), He is a beautiful Chestnut TB, 16'3 (at the wither), blaze, 3 white legs, 4 white feet (WTF was I thinking??!!!), just started jumping in the spring of 2009, had never evented in his entire life when I bought him (again, WTF was I thinking?), has the cutest little baby face I have ever seen, has the best personality anybody could ask for and is one of the smartest, most inquisitive and eccentric horses I have ever met. His intelligence, desire to please and consistent 'light bulb' moments scare me to death and I have been known to say on numerous occasions that I am worried I won't be able to keep up with him. What is worse is that he has everyone wrapped around his little finger INSTANTLY...the bugger...it drives me bonkers...
In July 2010, Chester completed, quite successfully I might add, his first ever Horse Trials!! Leading up to that point, we were not sure if he ever would be able to jump...let alone event, because of an injury he had sustained. It was a long process getting him rehabbed. I remember coming over the last xc fence...but don't remember going through the finish markers because I was in tears!! He. Had. Done IT!!
Chester's goal: to become a confident, HAPPY preliminary horse, compete successfully at that level while throwing in some CCI*'s for good measure. If his rider can grown the necessary body parts to be able to go Intermediate, then it will be done!! There is no limit to what Chester is able to accomplish...I just need to be able to keep up with him.
